Pandemic Respite

My family discovered Spring Lake Park during the beginning of the pandemic. We live so close, but had never gone. We appreciated the paved trails, had plenty of space, and that it wasn’t ever super busy. It was the only place we went to, for a while, outside of our home and yard. It felt safe - people kept their distance in the trails and wore masks. It was a great stress reliever and place for my young kids to expend their energy and enjoy the wonder of nature. The gentle rolling hills are great for exercise and fun for scooters and bikes. We feel like we have gotten to know the trails and scenery, and are very grateful to have easy, free access to such a wonderful local asset. We are so pleased to hear it could expand and provide access to the lake. There are so few places to enjoy the lake scenery.
